Special Lambda Group workshop "Listening deeply "

maria_pic.jpgWednesday, April 8, 7:00-9:00 pm in the library :

"Listening deeply,"

with The Rev. Maria DeCarvalho

We will discuss ways to communicate in love with those who disagree with us, or we with them, about things that matter deeply to us, a skill useful to everyone.
As lesbians, gays, bisexuals or transgenders, we may have difficulty communicating with people who discriminate or reject us in the church, our families, or elsewhere.
Can we listen deeply without denying ourselves, without responding with defensiveness, criticism or blame and without feeling victimized?

Maria DeCarvalho is an episcopal priest and founder of Another Way which equips organizations with tools for working together more effectively to achieve positive outcomes. She served for eight years as Dean of The Cathedral of St. John, a vibrant, multicultural congregation of the Episcopal Church in Providence, Rhode Island.
